Use Case: Cycle Count for Reserve Bulk Location in Oracle WMS Cloud

Objective

To perform a Cycle Count in a Reserve Bulk Location using the RF device in Oracle WMS Cloud and verify LPN and SKU-level accuracy.

Preconditions

• The Reserve Bulk Location contains multiple LPNs.
  
  
• The user has RF access to the Cycle Counting menu (
  
  
• Cycle count requests for the location have been generated, or the count is triggered manually.
  
  

Part 1: Counting LPNs in a Reserve Bulk Location

Steps

1. On the RF device, select Cycle Cnt Locn Nbr LPNs.
   
   
2. Scan the Location you want to count.
   
   
3. The system prompts for the number of LPNs currently present in that location.
   
   
4. Enter the total number of LPNs counted physically.
   
   
5. Once completed, select End Location Count to finish the high-level location count.
   
   

Result:
The system records the number of LPNs counted and compares it against the expected system quantity.
If discrepancies exist, it will trigger a detailed count for the location.

Part 2: Performing a Detailed Cycle Count

If the system detects discrepancies or a detailed count is required, follow the steps below:

Steps

1. On the RF device, again select  Cycle Cnt Locn Nbr LPNs.
   
   
2. Scan the same Reserve Bulk Location.
   
   
3. Enter the number of LPNs present in that location.
   
   
4. The transaction automatically calls the Cycle Cnt LCN transaction for detailed counting.
   
   
5. Scan the Location and then scan the LPN number to begin counting each LPN.
   
   
6. For each LPN:
   
   
   • Scan the SKU inside the LPN.
     
     
   • Enter the Quantity of that SKU.
     
     
   • Select End LPN Count once done.
     
     
7. Repeat the process for all remaining LPNs in the location.
   
   
8. After completing all LPNs, select End Location Count to finalize the detailed cycle count.
   
   

Outcome

• The Reserve Bulk Location and all its LPNs are counted accurately.
  
  
• The system records any quantity mismatches and generates adjustments if approved.
  
  
• The location’s inventory accuracy is verified and updated in Oracle WMS Cloud.
  
  

Notes

• Always ensure all LPNs in the reserve bulk location are physically accessible before starting the count.
  
  
• If a discrepancy is found, a supervisor review or recount may be required before adjustment.
  
  
• Detailed counts ensure that both LPN-level and SKU-level inventory are accurate.
