Use Case: Perform Zone Picking in Oracle WMS Cloud

Business Requirement

The warehouse operates a zone picking process where multiple users pick items from their assigned zones. Each zone picker is responsible for completing their portion of the pick and dropping the LPN into the next zone’s drop area. This ensures a sequential and organized flow of picking across zones.

Use Case Steps

  1. From the UI, navigate to the Manual Wave screen and run the Zone Picking Wave Template.
  2. After running the wave, verify the wave allocations and generated tasks in the Wave Inquiry screen.

Zone 1 Picking – User One

  1. Log in to the RF device using userone / feagan19.
  2. Select Option 1) Execute Tasks – Zone Picking.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to pick the required units from the Active location.
  4. Drop the picked LPN in Zone 2 drop zone (DZ11).

Zone 2 Picking – User Two

  1. Log in to the RF device using usertwo / feagan19.
  2. Select Option 1) Execute Tasks – Zone Picking.
  3. Press Ctrl + P and enter the LPN number started by User One.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to pick the next set of units from the Active location.
  5. Drop the LPN in Zone 3 drop zone (DZ22).

Zone 3 Picking – User Three

  1. Log in to the RF device using usethree / feagan19.
  2. Select Option 1) Execute Tasks – Zone Picking.
  3. Press Ctrl + P and enter the LPN number started by User Two.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to pick the remaining units from the Active location.
  5. Complete the packing of the LPN to finish the zone picking process.

End Result

The system successfully executes zone picking across multiple zones. Each user completes their assigned pick and transfers the LPN sequentially through designated drop zones, resulting in a fully packed LPN ready for further processing or shipping.
